OUR NEW HOME

After a wonderful stay in Cape Town it was time to travel to our new home. I really don't think we really knew what was instore for us. I had this dream of bushveld, all the wildlife, endless space for the dogs to run, free of Suburbia. This dream was true but never did I realize the challenge and adventures lying ahead. I was very happy moving to Gauteng as I would be in the center of Bouvier Rescue. By that I mean, I would be in the right area where most of the unwanted Bouviers seem to drop out of the sky.

OUR NEW LITTLE HOME

After saying our goodbyes to my children and Peanut our cat, whom we decided to leave behind with my daughter (who loves him to bits) a decision not taken lightly as Peanut was part of the pack, but we feared for his safety in the bush. we started the last leg of our travels.

In Front my husband with the Bouvers and trailer loaded with everything we felt we needed for our trip.  Most of the trailer was filled with dog beds lol. Of course and so it should be they priority number one. I followed with our little Smart Car and Grandpa Moses. Happy only Grandpa witnessed my tears for having had to leave my beloved Peanut behind.

 MISS YOU SO MUCH!

As always "murphy's law" came into play.  It rained, rained and rained. Visibility just about none. Even though we covered the trailer everything was soaked. We arrived at the pet friendly B&B in Bloemfontein in pouring rain and darkness.  I was looking forward to a hot shower, food and sleep.  To my disgust the accomodation was not what we expected.  The shower had a foul rotting smell and we could not let the dogs run free to stretch their legs as the owners dogs where not dog friendly.  ????  Needless to say we slept without bathing and left as early as possible for the last three hours drive.

At long last JHB came into view!  We were nearly home and I could not wait to meet my Bouvier foster mom Julia who would meet us alongside the road and follow us to the conservation farm to help offload our trailer.
